Actor Ōtani Oniji III as Servant Edobei

A popular theatre poster released in May 1794. A tragic love story. This is the scene in which Edobei tries to rob money. Both his hands are about to be out of his jacket, ready for the upcoming trouble.

The artist Sharaku appeared in May 1794 to the mainstream art history and was active for only ten months. There are no trails of him after January 1795. Neither his true name nor the dates of his birth or death are known.
